There’s a host of colourful Christmas fairs happening around our rail network this December, offering a perfect opportunity to get into the festive spirit and stock up on some original Christmas gifts. Here’s our roundup:
Carmarthen
Carmarthen’s St Catherine’s Walk Christmas Fair offers a charming German-style Christmas experience, with pretty wooden huts packed with great gift ideas. Expect to find handcrafted items from local makers, original art, jewellery, candles, ironwork and lots of food and drink. The selection of stalls will change throughout so it’s worth visiting more than once.
Also in Carmarthen, the Crossroads Christmas Market brings together a host of local businesses selling original and handcrafted gifts for all the family. The market runs from 10am until 4pm on Saturday December 3 at St Peter’s Civic Hall, 62 King St, Carmarthen.
Kidwelly
Kidwelly’s Christmas Market will be held on December 3 between 9am and 2pm at the Princess Gwenllian Centre. Santa will be there and there will be stalls selling baked goods, artisan crafts and fresh produce. There will also be live music from Tom Emlyn.
Llanelli
Bynea Christmas Extravaganza Market takes place on Sunday Dec 11 from
10am until 3pm at Tir Yr Yspyty, Bynea, Llanelli. Expect plenty of Christmas gift ideas from a host of stalls from local producers and makers.
Milford Haven
On Saturday December 10 and Sunday December 11, Milford Haven Rugby Football Club is hosting a Christmas Market. Running from midday until 7pm, it features craft and food stalls, wooden gifts, a raffle, mince pies, mulled wine and more. The Pembrokeshire Santa will be in attendance and on Saturday children can get Santa sleigh selfies. Admission to the event, which is at the Milford Haven Rugby Football Club on Observatory Avenue, is free.
On Friday December 9 and Saturday December 10 the Made in Milford Christmas Fair at St Katharine and St Peter’s Church in Milford Haven will offer plenty of stalls featuring handcrafted items from local makers, along with breakfast with Santa on the 10th. The fair runs from 10 until 4pm.
Neath
On Saturday December 17 the Neath YMCA Christmas Fayre offers arts and crafts, refreshments, a chance to meet Santa, and plenty of stalls selling Christmas gifts. It takes place at Neath YMCA, Pen-y-Dre, from 11am to 3pm and admission is free.
Also in Neath, the Christmas Fete at the Presbyterian Church of Wales on the High Street offers plenty of festive fun including stalls, music and refreshments. It runs from 10am until 3pm on Saturday December 3.
Saundersfoot
From December 2 until January 1, Saundersfoot Coastal Christmas will bring a host of festive offering to the picturesque coastal village. Treats include Bavarian festive treats, craft fairs, wreath making workshops, and concerts. From December 2 until January 1, wooden Christmas cabins will be located in the Harbour Car Park selling everything from food and drink to arts and crafts.

Swansea Market / City Centre – Christmas event – 26th Nov 2022
Swansea
Running until December 21, Oxford Street’s much-loved Christmas street market has stalls to solve all your Christmas shopping problems. From fine foods to arts and crafts, and from charming Christmas decorations to delicious snacks, the market is guaranteed to get you in a festive mood. Another top attraction is Waterfront Winterland, which runs in front of the National Waterfront museum until January 8, offering a true festive fairground experience complete with rides, refreshments and ice skating.
On December 3, the Waterfront Museum hosts A Big Waterfront Christmas. Running from 12 – 4pm, this festive afternoon includes real reindeer, children’s arts and crafts, festive music and a special story time with Santa. The Waterfront Museum will also host a winter vintage and makers’ market from Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11.
In Mumbles on Saturday December 17, the Friends of Oystermouth Castle are hosting an afternoon of Carols at the Castle. Taking place within the castle grounds between 12pm and 2pm, it’s a free event but donations are gratefully received.
Swansea’s public libraries are also getting in on the festive spirit, hosting a programme of free events including a chance to make your own book-themed Christmas decoration at Central Library on Thursday, December 15 from 5pm to 6pm.
Also in Swansea, the Elysium Gallery Christmas Art Market on Saturday December 3 promises a day of stalls, art, workshops, music, mulled wine and more, with the chance to buy original pieces by local artists. The market runs from 12 until 6pm at Elysium Art Bar and Gallery, 210 High Street.
Pembrey and Burry Port
On December 10 the Christmas Experience at Burry Port Memorial Hall offers the chance to graduate from Elf School, decorate cookies with Mrs Claus, meet Santa and enjoy a party full of fun and games.
The event runs from 10am – 12pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm on Saturday December 10
