The wishlist campaign, launched by Swansea Council’s tourism team, asks visitors and local residents to describe what they have missed most about the area – and what they’re looking forward to doing while they’re out and about here. The campaign will reinforce the Visit Swansea Bay Responsibly message encouraging visitors to follow social distancing and hygiene guidelines.
Online material promoting the campaign includes a new video along with blogs hosted on visitswanseabay.com. There are ideas on what people can do and visit. A social media campaign will encourage people to share their wishlist.
The suggestions are designed to encourage visitors and residents to move around the wider Swansea Bay destination, rather than concentrate in the popular honeypot areas. The key message, now that the five-mile travel rule no longer applies and some businesses are reopening, remains Visit Swansea Bay Responsibly.
This also encourages visitors to respect locations and follows on from the council tourism team’s earlier Visit Swansea Bay Later message during lockdown.
